Life isn't easy and we all need help at times. Nobody should feel that there is nowhere to turn; I'd like to help you find a way forward.
Hi my name is Kay; I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. Thank you for viewing my profile. I have studied with the Online Therapy Institute and am a qualified Cyber Therapist.
I work within the Ethical Framework set out with the BACP, I attend monthly supervision and continue my professional development.
I have worked in the 'talking therapy' industry for over 15 years. I also worked closely with families on a range of issues including housing, bereavement, family breakdown, relationships and immigration while working as a school counsellor and Family Liaison Officer. I often found that I was counselling them as well as offering practical help and strategies. This led me into training as a Counsellor and a change of career.
I have worked as a counsellor for 'MIND' working with clients with a range of issues including depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement, debt problems, relationships. I have also worked counselling clients with alcoholism and addiction problems while working for ADAS, (Alcohol Drug Advisory Service).

Approach to treatment

When people feel so overwhelmed that they do not know where to turn it can be a lonely isolated place. I will support you in the journey to help you find that way forward.
I do this by building a safe working alliance with you, in which you feel secure enough to explore your issues and feelings. I work in an integrative way using Person Centred,
Psycho- dynamic and CBT approaches to counselling. I also use Mindfulness training which can help you to calm anxieties and take control back of your life.
The most important part of the therapy is the confidential relationship that develops between client and counsellor.
