Biography

I offer support with low mood, depression, worry, anxiety, panic as well as relationship issues such as domestic violence, affairs or divorce. Similarly, I offer therapy for people impacted by trauma, loss or grief , work related difficulties, pregnancy, childbirth and life events/changes. Prior clients tell me I am compassionate, honest, culturally sensitive and down-to-earth in my approach.

After studying Psychology, I worked in Adult Mental Health working with people experiencing huge change and emotional instability. Later, as a counsellor within a College setting I offered therapy to students managing bullying, exam stress, identity/relationship issues and self-harm. I have also worked as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist in the NHS providing brief therapy for people referred by their GP for mild-severe depression or anxiety. In addition, I have managed therapeutic teams and services supporting trainee counsellors and therapists working towards accreditation.

Some of the settings I have worked in include:
- Prison services
- In-patient/outpatient Mental Health
- Wellbeing Clinics
- Colleges
- Employment Services
- Minority Community Groups
- GP/NHS Clinics

In additional to my private practice, I work as an online therapist supporting individuals referred by their GP/IAPT service for brief therapy.

Areas I have experience and interest in are:

- emotional and psychological wellbeing
- personal development
- sadness, sense of feeling stuck, lack of motivation and drive to include clinical depression
- stress, anxiety, worry and panic to include physiological symptoms (irritability, panic attacks)
- grief, loss and adjustment: bereavement, major life transition i.e. loss of job; child; parent
