Biography

Welcome to my profile,
I am passionate about ensuring therapy is accessible, flexible and tailored to each persons individual needs. I have a love of culture and languages having been raised cross culturally in England and Portugal and my interest in psychology started when I was a translator for Street Projects based in Brazil. I completed my professional training in Integrative Psychotherapy in 2008 and chose this form of therapy as it adopts the view that as human beings we are naturally geared towards self-regulation (balance/wholeness) when the right conditions are in place.
I have predominately worked in the NHS, Well-being services and higher education supporting people who have experienced low mood, depression, worry, anxiety, panic as well as supporting people through relationship challenges such as domestic violence, affairs or divorce. Similarly, I work with grief , work related difficulties and other life transitions such as pregnancy, childbirth or other life changing events. Prior clients tell me I am compassionate, honest, culturally sensitive and down-to-earth in my approach.
In addition, I have managed therapeutic teams and services supporting trainee counsellors and therapists working towards accreditation.
I am currently completing my training in Counselling for Depression which is an innovative development in counselling and psychotherapy and focuses on emotional issues underlying depression as well as internal processes such as low self esteem.
Areas I have experience and interest in are:
- emotional and psychological well-being
- personal development
- sadness, sense of feeling stuck, lack of motivation and drive to include clinical depression
- physical health, isolation and anxiety
Do feel free to message me to explore availability as I have flexibility for daytime, evening and weekend sessions (UK timezone).
