I'm a person Centred Counsellor and offer Counselling via video link or phone. I believe that we know when we want to make some changes in our life and, that is a great time to reach out for support. This is your opportunity to be heard and validated without judgement for whatever you would like to talk about in a session.
As a qualified Yoga Teacher I am particularly interested in the Mind-Body Connection. So in a Counselling session I may offer you a breathing or grounding exercise to help with anxiety or to deal with intense emotions.
My practice is based upon the Ethical Framework of the BACP where confidentiality, integrity & mutual respect are at the forefront. I would like to work together with you to support you in reaching your potential.

I am a fully qualified Professional Counsellor. Following the completion of a BSc (hons) Degree in Psychology, I obtained a BACP recognised Diploma in Counselling. I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and an Accredited Member of the National Counselling Society. I belong to the accredited register recognized by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care. I am currently working towards achieving full BACP accreditation by seeing clients in private practice.

Within my professional practice I demonstrate sensitivity to individual differences when working with clients of diverse ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation and cultural background, treating all people with unconditional positive regards and respect.

I work holistically with the individual, acknowledging the complexity of being human, as I believe that people are more than their diagnosis. I have the ability to work with clients with complex needs experiencing emotional and psychological unbalance.

I believe people have all the necessary resources within themselves to fully recover and achieve their goals in life. My role is to facilitate self awareness and inner exploration. Mindfulness is a key concept in my work with client. It is only by accepting ourselves fully for who we are that the changes we are longing for will occur naturally.

Making the decision to attend therapy can often feel overwhelming and confusing. For most people therapy can, however, be an extremely positive and empowering experience that increases greater self-awareness and understanding.

I am a fully accredited and qualified Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (CBT) with over 8 years of experience and specialise in working with adults. Being fully accredited implies that I have achieved the highest standard in my practice and that I adhere to stringent codes of professional practice and ethical standards.

CBT is an evidenced-based therapy and is recommended by NICE (The National Institute of Clinical Excellence). CBT has been proven to be extremely effective in the treatment of most problems we encounter. Being evidence-based means that I am able to incorporate a wide variety of established and researched psychological techniques in my practise and therapy with you. The effectiveness of these have not only been evidenced by extensive research but also by my own clinical experience of seeing what really helps people.

I have undertaken advanced training in a number of different Cognitive Behavioural Therapy approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); Compassion-Focussed Therapy (CFT), Couples Behavioural Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Schema Focused Therapy.
I consider you, the client, to be the expert who knows your own problems better than anyone.
