Ann Allega - Therapist

SPECIALIST IN AMERICAN EXPATRIATES • ADDICTIONS • WORK RELATED STRESS • RELATIONSHIP ISSUES • EXPATRIATE RELOCATION STRESS • FAMILY DYNAMICS • PTSD • ANGER MANAGEMENT • ANXIETY • DEPRESSION • LOW SELF ESTEEM • ADHD

Hello, my name is Ann and I am a registered member of the BACP. I have significant experience in online counselling and as a result I firmly believe in its benefits. I have done online and phone counselling myself and I found it to be effective. I've worked with lots of people who have never experienced counselling before and I am aware that this can be an anxiety provoking and nervous experience. However, based on my experience I am of the opinion that the release of speaking about something which you may have kept private for a long time is extremely cathartic. If you've come this far, I can offer you confidential and encouraging support through whatever it is you wish to work through. You may not even know what that is! Just that it might be time to talk to someone. My previous career was in the corporate world where I worked for over fifteen years in the beer industry. I'm an American expatriate having first moved to London in 2004. One of my special areas of interest is helping American expats adjust emotionally and psychologically with all the differences they face in the United Kingdom. I know because I faced the same challenges. In addition, I can work with any issue you wish to bring to me. As a registered member of BACP, I am committed to my continual personal and professional development and also work in accordance with their ethical framework for good practice.

SPECIALIST IN ADHD and Autism in adults + Depression + Anxiety + Abuse + Relationships + Gender + Sexuality + Relationship Diversity (including Kink and Polyamory) + Post Natal Depression + Grief + Loss + Bereavement + Trauma + Eating Disorders + Attachment + Family Dynamics

Hello. As a counsellor/psychotherapist, I am committed to choosing a therapeutic approach that works best for you, and view the relationship between us both to be crucial in facilitating whatever changes you want to make.

I know that shopping around and finding the right fit is important before investing money, time and emotional energy - and so I'm always happy to have a brief informal chat before you commit to any sessions.

I work with a variety of presenting issues, and am happy to work with you for short-term or long-term therapy.

I am LGBTQIA+/GSRD (Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity) allied, sex positive, body positive, and kink-aware.
I also have lived experience of Autism and ADHD and keep up to date with research and services around neurodivergence.
I support the Black Lives Matter movement, understand intersectionality and tend to work within a social model rather than a medical model when it comes to mental health and disability.

I have previously counselled children from age 5 upwards in school settings, and with parents in a post-natal depression charity. Prior to my counselling career, I worked in the arts and education sectors, supporting people of different ages and abilities to explore and express themselves - which it seems is something of a passion of mine. My arts training and background mean that I'm not averse to bringing creativity into the therapeutic relationship if appropriate.

** Note: Please message to check availability before purchasing a session. Thank you **

Carolyn Moscrop - Therapist

SPECIALIST IN Anger, anxiety, bereavement, bullying, couples counselling, depression, domestic violence, mental health issues, physical and sexual abuse, PTSD, relationship difficulties, stress

I am very lucky to have had the opportunity to use my counselling skills to support people in so many different ways. I have counselled at a GP surgery. I have worked with a local charity and a national bereavement charity. I have run anger management groups and also specialising in bereavement counselling. I now focus on my private practice in Hastings working with people online the phone and face to face. I also work with children and have done creative activities with people with dementia. Before I became a counsellor was a social worker in London supporting people with drug rehabilitation. Seeing how well some people managed to come off drugs with the support of one to one counselling made me want to become a counsellor to offer that kind of support. I also worked in a hospital on a mental health team and at the local social services in East Sussex.
