Ruth Leaney - Therapist

SPECIALIST IN ANXIETY, DEPRESSION,OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER, LOW SELF-ESTEEM, TRAUMA, ABUSE, ADDICTION, LOSS AND BEREAVEMENT.

I am a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist (BACP registered) offering individual on line and telephone counselling to adults, the work can be short term or on-going.
My way of working involves thinking about the link between past and present experiences, such as your relationships or how you respond to situations in your life. There could be patterns of behaviour that you have become stuck in and unaware of. There may be something specific that you are struggling with or a general feeling of unhappiness where feelings and thoughts are troubling you and have become overwhelming. I offer a non-judgemental space where we can explore whatever you bring together, at your own pace and in a way which feels safe.
Having this space to recognise and make sense of your experiences can lead to positive change, more freedom and self awareness.
Richard Stiles - Therapist

SPECIALIST IN Anxiety, Self-esteem & confidence issues, Mindfulness

I am a BACP accredited counsellor working with individuals and couples. My belief is that every human being is unique and views the world in an individual way. Therapy with me offers an exploration of what makes you who you are. This can involve looking at your childhood, your values and relationship patterns, in a supportive and non-judgemental way. I believe in gently encouraging you to reach your full potential. You may come to therapy because of a particular crisis or difficulty in your live. Simply telling your story can be enormously beneficial. However, you don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. You might simply want a space to explore your life in a more philosophical way. Therapy offers a safe place for that exploration.

Mindfulness and present moment awareness are at the heart of how I work as a therapist. In becoming more comfortable with the uncomfortable we can find peace and acceptance of wherever we find ourselves. Then we can begin to move on.

Aryeh Sampson - Therapist

SPECIALIST IN Couples Counselling, Anxiety Counselling and Anger Management

I specialise in helping couples and individuals improve their relationships and overcome anxiety, anger and depression .I also work with a wide range of other issues.. i am presently during Covid -19 working online , whats app & phone.

I am an experienced BACP accredited psychotherapist and certified Imago relationship therapist with training in CBT. I have a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Regents College and have been in private practice since 2009. My approach is integrative, and I am a recognized provider for WPA, AXA and BUPA.

How can I help?

1) Marital and Relationship Issues

As a Certified Imago Relationship Therapist I work with individuals and couples to understand the causes of their difficulties and rebuild love and connection in their relationships.

Couples often experience a breakdown of communication, that causes a fight and flight reaction. These may become repetitive cycle of self destructive behaviour were anger expressed spins out of control .A reduction of emotional closeness, trust and physical intimacy follows which can lead to crises in the relationship, affairs and even the threat of divorce.

Together we explore what you need, why there is disconnection and how you can get the relationship you want. A key to this is building open and calm communication in order to understand each other, resolve conflict and meet each others needs . We also focus on building greater appreciation, care and fun to reignite love and connection in the relationship.

2) Overcoming Anxiety ( Generalised Anxiety Disorder & Panic attacks)

Anxiety comes from underlying fear. To overcome it, we need to understand what the fear is and what is causing it. Sometimes it can be based on illusory thinking, where a person focuses on the worst case scenario coming true. These thoughts need to be challenged so we can eliminate them. . When the fear is a real one, it needs to be confronted by taking appropriate action. There are times when anxiety is based on the influences from past experiences, which need to be addressed to resolve them.

3) Anger Management

Anger can wreak havoc in a person’s life. With anger management a person gains understanding into what’s triggering the anger and how to change the way you respond. This can be by expressing feelings in a healthy way, and taking appropriate steps to solve the underlying cause of the anger. In each case anger management is tailored to the needs of the clients.

SPECIALIST IN DEPRESSION & LOW MOOD DISORDERS; ANXIETY/GENERALISED ANXIETY DISORDER/PHOBIAS/PANIC ATTACKS; STRESS/ANGER MANAGEMENT; TRAUMA/PTSD; GRIEF/LOSS/BEREAVEMENT; FAMILY/RELATIONSHIP ISSUES; ADDICTION - ALCOHOL, PRESCRIBED AND NON-PRESCRIBED DRUGS & RELAPSE PREVENTION; SELF-ESTEEM AND MOTIVATION. FEELING STUCK/LOST. EXISTENTIAL CRISIS.

I have worked in the field of mental health for over twenty years and I do this work from a place of love, passion and vocation. As well as a thorough and in-depth professional training I also bring the important often difficult learnings from life, relationships, parenting, loss, ageing: any such central components of being alive. My central thrust is towards connection, authenticity and trust: to offer this and thus encourage the same from you.

I create a safe space in which you can feel ready to unburden yourself from the weight of whatever you are carrying alone. Whether it is your anxieties and fears or your anger and dissatisfaction; whether it is haunting trauma or crippling self-doubt: whatever it is I am there to accompany you on the journey to the bottom of it. The work is all about communication and expression, through listening to your story and through working with your body where so often tension is trapped and tormenting. The timing of your arrival in therapy is always the right timing: when your need wells right up to the surface and sends you to me I am here.
Richard Dennison - Therapist

SPECIALIST IN Anxiety, work issues, or issues and longer term psychotherapy that looks at deeper issues and longer term change, eg personality disorders.

I left school and home as soon as I could, not having enjoyed my life in the family. It was a number of years before I recovered from this experience. I therefore fully appreciate the benefits that therapy has to offer. I qualified in 1999 as a Gestalt therapist and have worked in primary health care (NHS), for Mind and Rethink and now in private practice. I have gained a wide experience of working with individuals and couples which combined with my own experiences have enabled me to help facilitate the development of clients I see. I work in a manner that seeks to empower and enable people to find their own way and make decisions for themselves. We are beings that relate to others and to our environment, this is an emphasis that is offen looked at in detail, especially in long term work. Short term problem solving or grief counselling is offen more focused work upon a small number of issues.
